There were three main trim levels produced during this era: LS, LT, and LTZ. As with more recent models, moving up the trim levels means you’ll enjoy more extensive creature comforts. Options included dual-zone climate control and remote ignition technology.
How have these models changed from model year to model year? Throughout this generation, Chevrolet tweaked the Tahoe powertrain to optimize both power and efficiency. At the outset, the fourth-generation Tahoe was available with one of two V8 engines, a 295-horsepower 4.8-liter V8 or a 320-horsepower 5.3-liter V8. The 2009 Tahoe was available with an even bigger 6.2-liter V8 engine, giving you an even speedier ride with 395 horses.
Beginning in 2010, the 5.3-liter V8 engine became the Tahoe’s only engine. As with previous models, shoppers could pair this engine with standard rear-wheel drive or optional four-wheel drive with trail-friendly low-range gearing.
