The range of the Ford E-Transit is 126 miles with its 68 kWh battery. The E-Transit is a new cargo van from Ford, and the first and currently the only electric cargo van available for sale in America.
Currently the Ford E-Transit is on its toddler legs as it does not have the range we might desire for a work van. However, as we know with all electric vehicles the range seems to increase year after year. According to reports the battery may soon be bumped up to 98 kWh and get a better range of 168 miles.
This has yet to be confirmed by Ford, and it may be in the works for the 2024 model year of which little is known. The E-Transit also may have less miles depending on the amount of cargo that is being carried by the van. With the E-Transit you can expect everything you love about the regular Transit, just with an electric engine that might save you in the long run. Yes it is! The Ford E-Transit is fully electric. The new cargo van is the first cargo van to be made with an all-electric powertrain and the only one out for sale now. Although the new van EV may not be as revolutionary as the F-150 lightning, the E-Transit is the first foray of electric vehicles into the segment.
This bodes well for many who are needing a cargo van sometimes at their business but not all the time, having the E-Transit to ferry what you need around at your earliest convenience without having to pay added gas prices. The E-Transit offers a bit nicer interior over the regular transit as well with more of a car style interior as opposed to having a bare bones commercial vehicle. This gives the vehicle both a better feel for workers and for those who need a van for van life as well, with the ride being more comfortable and almost luxurious by comparison.
The Ford E-Transit still does qualify for a tax credit. The Ford E-Transit is a wonderful new vehicle and showcases Ford's commitment to making better electric vehicles and entering them into more and more segments.
As of this writing you are able to get a tax credit, and save some money in the long run by using an electric vehicle. This cargo van is a great investment between the tax credit, starting price of about $51,400, and the slightly sleeker design. With all the benefits of charging at home, carrying all the cargo you need to, and getting the job done in an environmentally safer way the E-Transit is hard to beat.
