The world has been leaning toward electric vehicles for quite some time now, and we are beginning to see more and more companies produce these electric vehicles. One of the most notable is the Ford Mustang Mach-E that has come to the forefront. Technical Differences
One of the biggest differences that can be found between these two cars is the two-wheel drive option versus the all-wheel drive options. The lower trims of both of these options are two-wheel drive. The Ford Mustang Mach-E offers rear wheel drive standard. On a similar note the “Premium” trim offered for Audi’s EV E-Tron has a single motor rear wheel drive train. In order to have an all wheel drive option for either of these electric vehicles you will want to look at one of the higher trim options that are available.
Both the Ford Mustang Mach-E and the Audi Q4 E-Tron offer impressive safety features. They both offer automated emergency braking and forward collision warning. They both feature standard lane departure and cross traffic monitoring. The bonus feature that the Mach-E offers is adaptive cruise control with hands free driving mode.
Overall Efficiency
While some of the lower trim levels of the Mustang Mach-E do not have the same 265 mile range of the Audi E-Tron, the higher trims drive 320 miles before a recharge is needed and an impressive 480 horsepower. Both of these platforms offer well over 200 miles of range which is a great starting point when looking for an electric vehicle!
The all wheel drive models that we see from both of these companies will have a bit of a lower range. The range will also be a little bit lower when you are towing a small trailer or have a heavier load.
Which to choose, the Ford Mustang Mach-E or Audi Q4 E-Tron?
While these two vehicles are quite similar when looking across the board there are some differences that show which is the best choice. The Ford Mustang Mach-E makes considerably more horsepower, even in the lowest trim that is offered. The safety features that are offered in the Mach-E vehicles are quite impressive, and these safety features are with each trim package. Audi’s configuration of the E-Tron is a viable competitor, however, when it comes down to the price and options of the two vehicles, the Ford Mustang Mach-E is the better option.
